A white Friday with the UMW



Fifteen were present today as a light snow fell on Stevensville for the February meeting of the Friday UMW Circle. Hostesses for today were Cleo Guenther, Carole Koval, and Linda Sunderland.

from the February issue of Response about love being the focus of next Wednesday which is both Ash Wednesday and Valentines Day.

 Reports:  
+Secretary - No correspondence.
+Treasurer - Bonita Ziegler reported that $1,401 was received in January and $5,650 was distributed in pre-selected mission projects.
+Spiritual Growth - Belinda Alkula offered Micah 6:8 as a focus for faithful living.
+Outreach/Mission/Social Justice -
Belinda shared a report about the winter Mission u (attended by Marcia and Belinda) in Laurel. The topics were Covenental Living and Missionary Conferences in the USA. Two opportunities for Mission u will be offered in the summer.
+Receptions - Bonita reported no receptions.
+Reading program - Marcia Prather noted that 2017 Reading Program reports are still welcomed. 2018 books have come in and are on display in the library (thanks to Mary Nelson).
+Saturday UMW Circle - Belinda said that the recycling effort is going well (drop-off at the parsonage) with Molly Hackett and  Ellyn Jones taking the items to Missoula this month. The Saturday Circle will be sending back to school items to Stevi Elementary this month. Pantry Partners Sunday offering will be on Jan. 21st.
+Prayer Shawls - No report.

Business:
+17 apple dumplings remain!

+It was decided that the Unit will not be a formal participant in the UMM rummage sale (June 23). Individual members are encouraged to take part.
+$200 was designated to Advance #901670 (Puerto Rico relief).
+Sara Malo and Julie McGarvey are taking the lead in working on the UMW bulletin board.
+ Worship on Wednesday meets at 6:00 pm the church on the first Wednesday and at the Living Center on the third Wednesday. This month, WOW (at the church) will take place before the Ash Wednesday service.
+Don Nelson invited everyone to come to the Valentines Dinner here at the church on February 17 (6:00 pm).
