Happy new year!  This is the first Sunday in the church year!  Today marks the first day of Advent, the journey to Christmas. This morning began rather damp and cool (nowhere near the cold that is coming!). The excitement that was in the air and in the voices of everyone who came to study and worship was wonderful and bodes well for our Advent journey.  (The choir and congregation sang a beautiful song during the lighting of the Advent candle.  Click on this sentence to hear it!)
