Caution: Men at work! |
Seven men turned out on this beautiful autumn morning for fellowship and planning. Tom Bishop whipped up a tasty breakfast, supplemented by a nice assortment of biscuits and jams from Lynn Moshier.
Bob Edgar reported back on the Strength for Service book ministry. We'll be looking at possible distribution opportunities including Firefighter's Day and Nation Police Week (both in May).
Don Nelson reported on contacts with the Corvallis UMC men's group and the possibility of sharing time together. A February retreat at Flathead Lake is on the Corvallis schedule and may be an option for us to connect to.
A flyer is being drafted to highlight some of the ministries the men are involved with include: the annual Valentines Dinner, Western Heritage Days rummage sale, support for a child in Haiti, WIC supplies, Cub Scout (meeting at SUMC), and church clean-up days.
The group also reaffirmed its commitment to provide rides to church activities and will be reminding the congregation of this ministry.
The next breakfast meeting will be on November 11.
