This plan was
designed by the Mission Shaped Future Team, based on feedback from a
wide network within the Yellowstone and Rocky Mountain conferences, in
order to achieve our goal for the new conference.
Bishop Karen
Oliveto speaks to the goal of the new Mountain Sky Conference: “I love
the bold goal we are adopting as the Mountain Sky Conference that
contextualizes our mission as United Methodists: we believe that we can
infuse the entire area with grace and abundant life as we reclaim the
life-changing love of Jesus for all people.”
She continues,
“To do that, we know we need to do things differently. Our structure
needs to reflect our goal so that we can strengthen witness on the local
church level, and provide resources so that leaders are equipped and
empowered. We need ways to come together quickly to respond with the
love of God to human hurts and hungers as they present themselves. We
need to make sure we keep widening the circle of engagement and
connection. I look forward to the future God call's us to as United
Methodists of the Mountain Sky Conference!”
You are invited to a town hall meeting to review this new conference organization plan at 6 p.m. Monday, March 19.
