Remember and be thankful

The conclusion of the first day of Annual Conference is the memorial service. In this moving service, clergy and their spouses who had died and churches which have closed since the last annual conference are remembered.

Remembering Clergy: Rev. Guy Botkin, Rev. William Bruce, Rev. Loy Estes, Rev. Henry Everding, Jr., Rev. Russell Hawkins, Rev. Douglas Lathrop, Rev. John Lewis, Rev. Alice Riemer-McKee, Rev. Keith Spahr, Rev. Sandra Stephens, and Rev. Wilbur Whanger.

Remembering Clergy Spouses: Betty Ely, Karon Franz, Lois Gilbert, Patricia Klingman, Elias Martinez, Sarah Mason, Lucille Wheatley, and Jane Winterheld.

Remembering Churches:
Blue Cliff UMC - Karval, CO (130 years) 
Midwest UMC - Midwest, WY (44 years)

We remembered our baptism by bringing water from across the Mountain Sky Area to be combined and then shared through flicks of water among the congregation. Pastor Charles contributed a vial of water from the Bitterroot River.
