A terrific group of ladies!

The September UMW meeting was a lively affair with twenty-six on hand! Hostesses Mary Costello, Sue Pearson, and Hazel Smith provided a delicious fudge brownie dessert and beautiful table decorations of Mountain Ash branches.

+Gail Moshier shared the devotions, a reading from 31 Days of Prayer.
+Pastor Charles shared the program, a review of the role our unit has in the global UMW mission field.
+Acting president, Carole Koval, introduced our newest member, Robin Johnston.
+Bonita Ziegler reported that we are ahead of last year's apple dumpling sales (80 dumplings are still available for sale).
+Bev Schneider offered the spiritual growth report, a reading from Alive Now!, the Disciples Prayer, that was based on Deuteronomy 5:3.
+Hazel Smith shared the Mission/Education/Social Action report which included two motions for financial support of the UMCOR response to the flooding in Lousiana ($150) and the backpack food program at Stevensville Elementary ($200).
+Marcia Prather invited members to take part in the UMW Reading Program, the next meeting will be on September 26 @ 7:00 pm.
+Sue Pearson invited sign-ups for the various areas at the October bazaar. Donations are needed for each area: Bake sale - Silent auction - "Unique" treasures room - Kitchen/dining room - Book & media - Hand-made crafts.
