Great turnout this morning |
The United Methodist Men met for its monthly breakfast and program this morning with twelve on hand. Thanks to Bob Edgar and Ed Sperry for preparing the fabulous breakfast.
As an gathering exercise, everyone was asked to share how their grandparents got to this country and how long each of us had lived in the Bitterroot Valley (an average of 18.9 years).
Don Nelson led us in a discussion on whether we wanted to do another Valentine's Dinner. It was decided that we will sponsor a dinner again with a sub-committee being formed to work out the details and report back in January.
Pastor Charles asked the group to take a toy soldier and to remember the service personnel away from home during the holidays.
Marcia Prather and Mark Sampson presented an informative program on the process involved in choosing retirement/long-term care options. A suggested title to help in the discussion each of us must have is "Being Mortal" by Dr. Atul Gawande.
Our first gathering in the New Year will be on January 12th.
