It's UMW picnic time!

Thirty-five came out on an overcast Friday for the annual UMW picnic. This year's theme was a beach party and the ladies certainly looked the part! We were blessed by a large contingent of ladies from the Hamilton Federated Church who came to share this time of fellowship with us.

The Unit officers took on the role of hostesses today, setting up the beautiful center pieces shared by Hazel Smith, blue decorative glass and sea shells. The wonderful cooks of the Stevi UMC didn't disappoint with today's meal showcasing the talents of our ladies!

President Trudy Freeman read A True Blessing by Claire Noland (July/August 2016 Alive Now) for our devotions.

In the business time, Sue Pearson addressed the making of the apple dumplings: making dough on July 24 at the church and the making of the dumplings on July 25 at the Stevensville School cafeteria.

It was reported that the UMW portion of the June rummage sale (held in cooperation with the Men's group) brought in more than $1,000 for mission projects.

We were treated with two musical offerings this afternoon, a solo composed and performed by Anna Storkson, and a number on the piano by Ginny Mellgren.

Our next meeting will be on August 12th at 1:00 pm.
