Scripture lessons for July 19th

"Greed" from "The Seven Deadly Sins and the Four Last Things" by Hieronymus Bosch
This week we turn our attention to the sin of greed.  The scripture lessons for next Sunday are 1 Samuel 2:12-17 and Luke12:13-21.

"Oh! But he was a tightfisted hand at the grindstone, Scrooge! A squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous old sinner! Hard and sharp as flint, from which no steel had ever struckout generous fire; secret, and self-contained, and solitary as an oyster."

- "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens
