The UMW today

The United Methodist Women of Stevi UMC met today with twenty-five in attendance.  A wonderful dessert and autumn decorations on each table awaited us, lovingly provided by Sonia Henry, Sue Pearson, and Roberta Zielinski.

Becky Boykin led the meeting portion of the gathering:

(Nurse) Linda Kauffman shared the day's devotional, a reading from Sara Young's book, Jesus Calling.
+We are blessed to have two new members join our UMW unit, Kathy Wood and Bev Schneider.
+Bonita Ziegler shared a video, "All Cracked Up" from Patsy Clairmont (from a Women of Faith event) for today's program.
+Hazel Smith brought the social action report, some insightful information about voting rights at the national and local level.
+Fran Jackson reported on the Hamilton Federated Church's women's luncheon which was yesterday. Carole Koval reported on the Western Mountains District UMW fall meeting (last week) in Corvallis.
+Carole Koval reported that three prayer shawls were given last month which make our total given to date, 189.

The big topic being discussed today was of course the annual fall bazaar which is NEXT WEEK!!!There are still plenty of opportunities for volunteers to sign-up to help in the various departments.

Set-up for the bazaar takes place next Friday, starting at 9 am. The bazaar itself is set to take place a week from tomorrow on Saturday, October 17th, from 9 am - 2 pm.
