We love to sing!

Today's March meeting of the United Methodist Women (UMW) was a green affair with lots of Irish-themed decorations and desserts provided by the hostesses, Fran Jackson, Billie Mercer, and Marcia Prather.

President Trudy Freeman led the gathering through the business portion of the gathering.

Sonia Henry shared today's devotional, from the Upper Room, including sharing scripture passages that touched on the will of God (Psalm 143:10, Matthew 6:10, Matthew 26:39, Romans 12:2, Ephesians 5:17, and I John 5:14).

Bev Schneider led the Unit through the UMW theme of this month, Prayer and Self-denial and shared with us stories of God's grace in action, including reading Jeremiah 29:7, 11-12.  In 2014, more that $730,000 was raised through this UMW offering which was used to support twenty-six US and fourteen international green ministry initiatives.

Among the reports heard today, Carole Koval noted that one prayer shawl was presented last month, bringing our total to 201 to date.

Mary Hackett presented today's program which was centered on "Good King Winceslas."
