A snowy start to Saturday

Dave, Don, and Ed share some coffee in the kitchen
Breakfast (by Tom Bishop) is ready to eat!
Positivity & Proverbs
The United Methodist Men gathered this morning at the church for the monthly men's breakfast. Tom Bishop put out a hearty spread which was quite welcomed on a snowy morning here in the Bitterroot Valley.

Bob Edgar provided a thought-provoking devotional on "Positivity & Proverbs." We learned that pessimism isn't bad, but needs to be balanced with optimism. We are an anxious people in spite of our material wealth. We can choose joy over misery, upward vs downward comparisons. Bob shared several proverbs of compassion that speak to focusing on a joyful heart, not a crushed spirit. Among the verses offered were Proverbs 17:22 and Philippians 4:8.

Don Nelson reported that he had been contacted by World Vision that the child we are sponsoring in Haiti was okay following the hurricanes that hit the island nation this fall.

Our next gathering will be a "no host" breakfast at the Frontier Cafe` on January 14 @ 8 am.
