United Methodist Men's breakfast

Chuck Benner gets a plate while Tom Bishop looks on
Small group, big ideas!
The United Methodist Men (UMM) gathered at the church this morning for their monthly breakfast and meeting.

Thanks to Tom Bishop for providing the wonderful meal!

Bob Edgar shared information about the Strength for Service (for community) books that we're hoping to share with area agencies. We'd like to have books available by May. Possible events to connect with include the National Day of Prayer (May 3), International Fire Fighters Day (May 4), and National Police Week (May 12-16).

Discussion about the rummage sale was held. The UMW is disinclined to participate this year which will result in a change in structure should we continue with this fund raising venture. More discussion is needed. Western Heritage Days is June 15-16.

Making the monthly gathering about more than just eating was also discussed. Getting more men involved in doing something rather than just being here will require us being more intentional and focused.

On-going efforts include providing rides to church events. While this has a direct impact on just a few people each week, it is seen as an important ministry in the church.

The Valentines Dinner will take place at 6:00 pm on February 17 here at the church. Help will be needed to sell tickets and to decorate the fellowship hall on the morning of the 17th.

Bob Edgar and Ed Sperry volunteered to provide breakfast at our next gathering on February 10.
