Today's UMW gathering

Hazel presents a mission opportunity to the gathering
Carole K. presents Carol G. a special recognition pin
Judy presents the program on human trafficking
On a damp, chilly afternoon in the Bitterroot Valley, the members of the United Methodist Women (UMW) gathered for a time of warm fellowship, refreshments, business and an informative program.

Phyllis Daniels shared today's devotional, which included a reflection on Psalm 116:12 - "What shall I return to the Lord for all his goodness to me?"

In addition to the regular reports, Mary Lyon reported that the recent Bazaar had generated over $5,100 in profits!  These funds are raised to support the mission projects of the Stevensville UMW.

Carol Gragg gave a report about the Yellowstone Conference UMW gathering in Billings last month.  She and Belinda Alkula attended and Carol said it was terrific.  Already talk has begun about some from Stevensville's UMW going to the 2014 national UMW gathering in Louisville, Kentucky!

Judy Inslee brought today's program which focused on the scourge of human trafficking in the world today.  It was a sobering look at how some of our brothers and sisters are being treated in this modern form of slavery.  Human trafficking appears in the form of sex trafficking, labor trafficking and domestic trafficking.

In February Judy will conclude the presentation with a look  at this issue in the United States and in Montana.

Today's hostesses were Betty Lowell, Sue Pearson, and Betty Shorten.  Everyone enjoyed the fresh pumpkin pie, a sure sign of Thanksgiving's approach!
