Today's UMW meeting

The United Methodist Women met this afternoon and as always it was a joy to be with such a loving group of people!

Bonita led the gathering and shared the program, a video of a Patsy Clairmont performance.  

Hostesses this month were Claire Kelly, Sue Pearson, and Olivia Sherry.

Hazel asked the members to select from a provided list how to distribute $600 in special mission funds.  Everyone was given a list and invited to say how to disperse the funds.  The $600 could be given in a lump sum or spread to any/all of the choices provided. Please contact Hazel for deadline for nominations.

Choices were:
Sharing Tree; Pantry Partners; Loaves & Fishes fund; UMCOR Advance #982450 (Ebola response); UMCOR Advance #581479 (McCurdy Educational Ministry); and UMCOR Advance #982450 (responses to current emergency needs).

Those present were also offered the opportunity to sign up for a variety of events including:
the District UMW meeting on September 20th;
the Conference UMW meeting on October 4th;
lunch with the Hamilton Federated Church women on Oct. 9th;
and the SUMC Bazaar on October 25 (set-up on the 24th).

The next meeting of the Stevi UMC UMW will be on October 20th at 1 pm at the church.
