Scripture lessons for January 17th

Paolo Veronese - The Wedding Feast at Cana (1562-63)
The scripture lessons for January 17th, the second Sunday after the Epiphany, come to us from Isaiah 62:1-5 and John 2:1-11.

In Veronese's painting, Jesus can be seen in the midst of the boisterous scene (in the middle of the scene, below the banister, in the red tunic with a blue mantle), serenely looking at the viewer.  Is there more to this passage, Jesus' first recorded sign, than water into wine?
