GC 2016: Day three (May 12)

Pastor Charles joins the Climate Change vigil
Bishop Grant J. Hagiya leads the gathering in communion

More than 1,000 hand-decorated lanterns were part of the event
The morning of the third day of the GC was once again dominated by discussion of Rule 44. The morning could best be described as a explanation or search for who could display the best mastery of Robert's Rules of Order.

The purpose of Rule 44 (from the GC rules of procedure) was proposed as a mechanism by which GC could engage is discussing issues without resorting to votes where one side "won" and one side "lost."

Sadly (according Pastor Charles), the voice of discernment was drowned out by those who cherished rules over relationships.

The day was redeemed somewhat by the hundreds who turned out for a climate vigil. The voices of people wanting to do something positive about their responsibilities toward God's creation was special to witness.
