30 Days of Listening: Day 11

One of the ways to listen at the end of the day is through a practice borrowed from our Jesuit brothers and sisters: the prayer of examen, or as one phrased it: rummaging for God through your day.

As today comes to a close, try this:

Review the day in thanksgiving. Note how different this is from looking at what you did wrong. Consider your day as a one filled with gifts—gifts of existence, work, relationships, food, challenges.
...
With gratitude, walk through the past 24 hours, from hour to hour, from place to place, task to task, person to person, giving thanks for every gift you encounter.

Consider this exercise another way of listening, as you review your day. What did you hear?
