Prayers of the Church

JOYS

Birthday blessings:  (1) To Jordan whose 30th birthday is today, (2) To Mitch E. whose 14th birthday is this Thursday, (3) Clay F.’s birthday this week and (4) To Earl Harper who will be 103 on October 21st.  Folks are invited to his Open House to celebrate this special birthday on October 20th.  (Note:  Grant Wheeler’s 84th birthday would have been today.)

Anniversary blessings to Don and Mary Nelson who celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last week.

Prayers of thanksgiving for …

-       Ed’s daughter is doing better.

      -       Bev L.’s good response to treatment, resulting in her feeling better.

-       Scott’s healing after an explosion burned his face.
      -       Colleen M.’s positive response to medical treatments.

-       Carol G. and Belinda A.’s wonderful experience when they attended this weekend’s Conference United Methodist Women’s (UMW’s) annual gathering in Billings.  They were thankful to the church’s UMW organization which provided them with a scholarship to help off-set some of the expenses of the trip.  (The scholarship was for first-time attenders at a UMW conference event.)

Carol G.'s fun and colorful nail polish on her finger nails… a result of the “Manicure for Mission” fund-raising effort at the UMW conference gathering.  This great idea netted just over $160 for missions donations.  The various colors represent the UMW’s five channels of giving opportunities.
-       Ten men who attended yesterday’s United Methodist Men’s (UMM’s) monthly breakfast meeting.  (All men of the church are invited to participate in their gatherings at the church the second Saturday morning of each month.)
      -       The wonderful breakfast casserole that Mary N. made for the UMM breakfast yesterday, which was greatly appreciated.

It’s Girl Scout candy-selling season, and the church family is invited to participate in the fellowship hall after church.
