Hymns in Lent - Day 38

"He hath made us accepted in the Beloved."
- Ephesians 1:6

Jesus, with kindest pity see
The souls that would be one in thee!
If now, accepted in thy sight,
Then dost our upright hearts unite.

Allow us, e'en on earth to prove
The noblest joys of heavenly love!
Thee, in its great Author, let it show,
And back to the pure fountain flow.

A spark of that celestial fire,
Still let it to its source aspire:
While all our souls fly up to thee,
And blaze throughout eternity.
