The December gathering of the United Methodist Women was a festive affair as the ladies and their guests arrived for an "English Christmas Tea."  Forty-three were on hand this afternoon to enjoy tea, delicious treats, and warm fellowship.

Six tables were adorned with festive decorations and at each place was placed an antique cup & saucer, fabulous home-made deductibles, and tea served in a wonderful assortment of tea pots.  A hostess was at each table, ensuring that everyone was provided with everything they desired.

Today's hostesses were: Belinda A., Trudy F., Judy I., Carole K., Charlene S., and Bonita Z.

Marcia P. presided over her last meeting as UMW president before handing the gavel to Trudy F. in January. During the meeting portion of the gathering it was announced that $11,000 had been raised in 2014 for the mission projects the unit will be sponsoring in 2015.

Pastor Charles shared the devotional today.  It was a reading from Sunday Book of Poetry (1869), the poem, "King Robert of Sicily" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

We were treated to several musical offerings today, reflecting the wealth of talent in our community.  First were Clay & Trudy F. who shared two traditional English carols.  Julie L. then shared two beautiful piano selections which were conveyed with such grace!  And the Stevensville Chrysolian Choir was also on hand today, sharing their gifts with us is an annual tradition.

Carole K. shared a delightful recording of "A Cup of Christmas Tea" which was so fitting given the theme of today's event.
