Advent Devotional for December 10th

Luke 2:13-14 (The Message) –  "At once the angel was joined by a huge angelic choir singing God’s praises: Glory to God in the heavenly heights, Peace to all men and women on earth who please him."

When I think of a space on the earth filled with an angelic choir I think of how we as children of God use our talents to sing praises to the Lord. In these verses we are but witnesses to the glory that heaven has in store for us.

At this time of year we should especially feel as if we can not only share our voices in song as the "huge angelic choir" but should try to imagine the awe felt by those shepherds out in that field that were gifted the opportunity to witness such a huge expression of the joy of heaven, not only in the hearing of the singing of angels, the witnessing of the birth of the son of God in its most joyous and yet simplest form-a baby.

This Advent, I pray that we join in this glorious celebration and realize the tremendous opportunity we, in this small town, have to participate in giving and receiving the glory of God in Sound and voice.
