Community Context Exam

During our Church Conference last Thursday, the D.S. gave us this exam.  As we continue our pilgrimage to Christmas and look ahead to the New Year, consider your responses to these questions.

Community Context Exam:

1. What is the name of your church's next door neighbors? Family status? Employment situation?

2. Who is your local representative? What party?  What was his/her most recent activity?

3. If someone comes to town, where can they find:
+A free meal?  +Lodging for one night?  +Someone to talk to?

4. What community service organizations are present in your community?

5. What is the greatest worry in the minds of most people in your community?  List three needs (and not just what you think they should think).

6. What is the name of your local sheriff?  What does he/she say is the greatest problem they face? What is their opinion of your community in general?

7. How many people live within one block of your church?  What do they think about their "neighbor," the church?

8. Name three grocery/store cashiers and what's the most important thing in life to them?

9. Who is the most challenging person in your community?  What's his/her story?
