Advent Devotional for December 11th

The season of Advent/Christmas is one of the most, if not the most, exciting seasons in the church year.

In our hemisphere it is one of increasingly longer periods of darkness leading to Christmas Day, the appearance of decorated trees with myriads of lights and decorations, increasing excitement of family gatherings, shopping and presentation of gifts and many other personal considerations.

All of this seems to crescendo so quickly from advent to Christmas Day. Everyone seems to experience different inner feelings of this intensive event, but all of it centered around the Christ child’s birth.

Surrounding all of this activity is the beautiful Christmas music which even more underscores the importance of this special season in our Christian lives.

The common denominator of this very special time of year is Jesus Christ (The Reason for the Season). What a Blessing it is!
