The dictionary definition of Advent is thus: "To come, the period including the four Sundays just before Christmas, the birth of Christ."
"We are preparing for the birth of the Christ child." Christmas season is filled with wonderful memories and favorites.
I have a collection of Christmas cards; my favorites are the Madonna from the paintings and pictures, the crèche scene and the shepherds. When I use stamps I want the latest Madonna or shepherds (no bulbs for me). The crèche scene was cut from a block of wood, very simple. They are set out the piano.
Favorite Christmas stories include, "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" and Leo Buscalia’s "Seven Stories of Christmas Love." We read them with the grandchildren.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
