Guiding Team tonight!!

Members feasted on a delicious hamburger supper that was provided by Bob Edgar, which included delectable side dishes provided by other members... and a delightful dessert by joey and Dean Diers.

Afterwards, attention turned to the retreat being planned for January 24-25 at the church.  Invited to participate in this retreat are all people who are interested in helping to shape the future direction of the church (church members and friends of the church, alike).

This event will be lead by our District Superintendent, the Rev. John Daniels.  It will help church leaders approach the new year with concrete plans for achieving the purpose of the United Methodist Church:  "Making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

More information will be in the January church newsletter, "The Glad Tider."

Pastor Charles passed out copies of "The Church Invisible" by Nick Page to the members and encouraged them to read this fictional look a prediction of what the church will be like in forty years if nothing changes.  There are extra copies in the pastor's office, available for check-out to anyone who is interested in this "good read."
